IKEA öppen

A new IKEA store opening is an event and their expansion to Las Vegas was no exception. We needed to generate awareness and create excitement so that local residents would feel that it was an experience that they couldn’t afford to miss.

 

We welcomed locals to the unboxing of the new IKEA by letting them know in Swedish that they were “öppen” for business. Being “öppen” was more than just an invitation to visit the new store. It also educated the Las Vegas community about the IKEA brand and their openness to innovation as well as their dedication to their customers: from the shopping experience to the design of their products, and their impact on the environment.

 

I worked closely with the Creative Director to concept and create Billboards, OOH banners, bus wraps, digital banners, catalog onserts and games.

 

The campaign was a success. It even won a WPP Worldwide Partnership Program award.

I concepted and designed a 3-D billboard to advertise the store opening, then worked closely with the vendor Atomic Props & Effects LINK to make it come to life. Here is a photo of the elements being assembled outside.
